Spec campaign ✦ Before & after

Miu Miu FW26.

Before and after: a luxury campaign, reimagined as an AI fashion film

We took Miu Miu's Fall/Winter 2026 campaign, kept the tension at its centre and reimagined it as a 26 second AI film, without celebrity casting.

Why Miu Miu FW26

Once AI can generate the image, the image alone stops setting a campaign apart.

The idea and the judgement behind it start to matter more. We wanted to test that against a campaign with every advantage: a globally recognised luxury house, a collection built around a clear concept, and one of the strongest teams in fashion.

Where the original builds a controlled world around two well-known faces, our version follows one ordinary woman through one evening.

What it set out to say ✦

Clothing that sits close to the body while acting as emotional armour.

The collection explored opposing qualities within the same garment. The campaign translated that into a controlled world after dark: cold blue tones, direct flash, industrial surroundings and heavy outerwear layered over softer, body-conscious pieces. The cold made the body feel exposed, the outerwear meant protection, and the accessories stayed recognisable throughout. As an image-led fashion campaign, it was cohesive.

Where we thought it could go further

Our conclusion ✦

Our conclusion wasn't that the original failed. We had no access to its performance, and its objectives weren't necessarily ours. We saw a chance to take the same tension somewhere else.

  1. Softness as strength is familiar territory for Miu Miu and for luxury fashion. FW26 gave it a new environment and treatment. We felt there was room to explore it through a different kind of experience.

We kept the contradiction.

And changed everything around it.

Across several Miu Miu campaigns, opposing qualities share the same frame again and again. In our reading, FW19 leaned towards collective identity, SS22 brought personality into sharper focus and FW26 returned the tension to the body and its surroundings. That's our reading of selected campaigns, not an official Miu Miu framework.

What we built instead ✦

One woman, one ordinary evening

The change comes through her posture, her expression, the way she moves and how she wears her clothes. She starts the evening carrying the day and ends it moving differently.

Styling before generation ✦

Every piece chosen first.

Before we generated anything, the wardrobe was set from real Miu Miu product references: two bags, two tops, two footwear looks, sunglasses, a cardholder and a belt.

Then, her ✦

Every piece belongs to her routine.

The bag is part of her commute, the cardholder turns up in an everyday moment, and the sunglasses and second outfit carry the change in her mood.

Carried, not posed ✦02 · bags

What she carries ✦

A bag in a still only has to look right. A bag being carried has to keep its shape.

Her body, her hands, her clothes and the camera all move, and the bag has to hold its proportions through all of it. The more naturally we wanted the products to appear, the more carefully we had to control every interaction with them.

How we produced the film

Four things the 26 seconds taught us, each with the shot that taught it.

The character sheet she was locked to
1 saved identity

01 / 04

Lock the character ✦

One character, every shot.

One believable woman who stays the same across locations, light, distance, expression and outfit. Once she worked, we saved her as a persistent identity and reused her in every shot. Every new generation was checked against the whole film, face first, background last: a small background error can survive the edit, a different face can't.

What we learned ✦

The tools made the images and motion possible. The creative decisions decided whether they belonged together.

The subway convinces because it's ordinary. The sunglasses moment works because it comes from her behaviour. The apartment feels real because nobody prepared it for her arrival. None of it came from one perfect generation, it came from holding the same decisions about character, styling, products, setting, movement and edit across the whole film.

Next time

  1. 01

    Redesign difficult hand interactions earlier.

  2. 02

Split complex motion into shorter sequences from the start.

  3. 03

Check character and product consistency before refining the background.

Why this matters for brands ✦

Not every brand needs a campaign built from zero.

Often the creative direction, the visual identity and the products already exist. The challenge is finding another way to tell the story, or testing a direction before committing to a full shoot. This project tested both: the strategy and the production.

Questions about AI fashion production

the short answers.

  • No. This was an independent, non-commercial spec campaign created by close friends. using real Miu Miu product references, with no commission, affiliation or endorsement from Miu Miu, and nothing produced for the brand.

  • The original builds a controlled, nocturnal world around two well-known faces and expresses its themes through styling and atmosphere. Ours keeps the same tension between intimacy and protection but follows one non-celebrity woman through an ordinary evening, showing the change through her behaviour.

  • We produced the film through Higgsfield, using GPT Image 2 for still imagery, Higgsfield Elements to keep the character's identity consistent and Seedance 2.5 for motion.

  • Establish a reliable character early and reuse the same saved identity throughout, instead of rebuilding her for each shot. Then check every new generation against the whole film, starting with the face, because a changed face breaks a sequence far more than a small background error.

  • Products can change shape, scale, texture or position when generated characters interact with them. Bags, clothing and accessories need to stay accurate while bodies and cameras move. Reference images, controlled framing and shot-by-shot review keep them consistent.

  • More than photorealistic texture. Consistent characters, natural anatomy, realistic fabric, everyday environments, subtle expressions and accurate product interactions all matter. For this film we deliberately kept skin texture and lived-in details instead of polishing every frame.
